After 12 days of absence from Reddit, HugBunter has returned to set things straight. The dread administrator has taken to Reddit to give updates on Dread, suffering it's longest downtime ever, and debunk FUD.
On February 11th the Dread Network Status page was updated:
Updates are sparse right now intentionally, due to further problems because I tried to rush things and over-simplify the theory behind intended re-writes, we've been left with some tough decisions which will make the relaunch potentially a lot less worthy of what I wanted to provide.
The DoS workaround concept is in final testing stages and being held back only due to limited contact with some market Admins, who we want to ensure are provided the accessibility for organic traffic to their service. I am currently migrating some minor new features/updates into the previous Dread codebase and we will relaunch in the best capacity possible at this time. I am avoiding Reddit right now due to the cess pit of complaints and FUD, which just provide further headaches for us all.
We're working hard and will restore balance for us all shortly.
Both HugBunter's and Paris's canaries have been updated.
Opinion on Alphabay's Situation
HugBunter has something to say about DeSnake's absence:
I've been saying DS (DeSnake) is either compromised or dead for over a month now, we'll see how it plays out.
He's been MIA for a very long period now, there is no way he'd allow the market to lockdown if he planned on being away for an extended period.
I do not believe for one second, with knowing how he operates, that he would simply let this slip his mind and will not trust any form of return from him.
Which begs the question: If AlphaBay returns, will it be allowed on Dread? I can't see HugBunter allowing a market he doesn't trust on his platform.
HugBunter's response to claims AlphaBay is exit scamming:
Unlikely because he'd be working to maximize profits. If it IS, then the only reason for doing it this way, would be to leave things open-ended as to his well-being and what really happened to the market. Preserving a legacy without anyone suspecting he made off with millions. I could totally see this as something he would want to do in such an instance, but I do not believe this to be the case. In the best way, I hope he died rather than being busted, because I'm sure he'd be put in a position where he wishes he was dead.
If they (Law enforcement) don't have access to his PGP key then we can assume they don't have access to the servers, unless the servers were identified beforehand also, still unlikely to gain access however.
The majority of people browsing this site voted AlphaBay will exit.
HugBunter allowed an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to promote his market on Dread? Does he understand at least a little what the Ministry of Internal Affairs does? This is crazy and we continue to trust our destinies to such a cretin.
