Dread has been offline since November 30th and it's starting to take a toll on the darknet community. The biggest occurrence being Kilos exit scam.
Noticeably darknet users haven't got an outlet to get support anymore. So they've flocked to reddit, where every other comment gets deleted by moderators. Not to mention, due to the lack of market admins present, most posts turn into a echo chamber assuming the worst.
Case in point: Alphabay's infamous 2FA error strikes again.
Some redditors have turned to conspiracy theories
#1: One of the Dread admins is in Jail
From the article:
reporting that a man (Zeekill) that her female housemate had brought home from a nightclub was "angry and drunk" and that the two had been fighting.
It seems unlikely that HugBunter/Paris is a 25 year-old Finnish man who's being charged with extorting a psychotherapy practice. If this story is true, one of the admins had been out partying while claiming to be working on Dread 24/7. This would explain the re-launch delays.
Kivimäki, who formerly used the first name Julius, was arrested Friday morning in Courbevoie, a suburb of Paris
Paris being arrested in Paris.
As of February 9th both admins canaries are in date.
#2: AlphaBay's Onion Keys Compromised
A now deleted Reddit post started to warn people that AlphaBay's onion keys have been published on Github. Of course the post quickly turned into FUD fest before it's removal. People with 2FA enabled still can't login so this caused even more panic.
The keys are not real. This should of been obvious since the Github user also claims to have Facebook's onion keys.
Don't believe everything you read, lol.
Thanks for all you do! this website is great, keep it up!
