Austrian Man Allegedly Bought Marijuana on the Darkweb

Authorities in Salzburg Austria arrested and charged a man for allegedly importing drugs purchased through the darkweb.

According to a press release by the Salzburg State Police Department, police arrested a 23-year-old man for importing multiple marijuana packages purchased from a darkweb vendor in Spain.

The 23-year-old’s drugs importation was discovered at the end of July 2021, after customs officers in Vienna intercepted a suspicious package from Spain. The package contained 50 grams of marijuana and was addressed to the 23-year-old’s residence.

The officers later intercepted and seized another package also shipped from Spain and addressed to the 23-year-old. After opening the package the officers found out that it carried 28 grams of cannabis. The Salzburg public prosecutor authorized a search warrant for the 23-year-old’s residence.

The Hallein police executed the search warrant on October 11. The search resulted in the seizure of a wide variety of drugs and weapons including stun guns and expandable batons.

Police also found and seized a package similar to those intercepted at the airport. The officers opened it and found eight grams of cannabis. During questioning, the 23-year-old told the police that he had ordered cannabis from the Spain-based vendor on ten occasions.

The Salzburg public prosecutor charged the 23-year-old with drugs and weapons possession charges.

The conclusion is that the DNM vendors has written the DNM bible to protect them selves, they don’t care about the buyers and their OpSec. This is rude and selfish.

Further more, people at dread and reddit support the lies of the DNM vendors fooling individuals to buy from DNM. This has two purposes, one, the DNM’s can sell and do revenew, two, law enforcement will take the “low hanging fruit” and bust the buyers, and thereby the DNM vendors have less focus on them selves.

These really are bullshit amounts of weed. I suspect there is more to the story than just the seized packages, i.e. the drop address or the recipient were already Known To Police (whatever the fuck that means).

However, Street Dealer is right - vendors and markets have an incentive to make potential buyers feel safer than they actually are. Cases like this one (house raided for 50g of weed) truly are anomalous - these types of buys are almost always ‘safe’ buys. Buyers need to do their research and keep their drop address as clean as possible.

Last time I checked, this website served as an index for several markets with lots of vendors. Just because you used good OPSEC doesn’t mean your drunk and stoned vendor will, it’s like eBay, read the reviews and do your research and it’s safer than driving a car, seriously… so many dumb fuck drivers taking big chances to get to their shitty jobs. Use tails too on a micro sd card if you’re going big, you can store that little chip anywhere just be careful not to snap it in half

Everyone wants to talk about OpSec, and sure, he might have been able to get away with it if they hadn’t intercepted a second package. Nonetheless, the real failure is being a fucking retard:

Prior drug and weapons convictions, known shit disturber, weapons ban, keeps multiple smartass loophole weapons that evidently weren’t even legal where he lived. What happened was almost certainly that police really wanted to arrest this guy for being a general nuisance and this was the first opportunity that presented itself.

Unless you live in Singapore, Saudi Arabia, etc you can probably do what he did on DNMs and walk away scot free even if you do get caught. It almost sounds like he might have cracked during interrogation. Personal use, not being an unavoidable problem in your community, and keeping your mouth shut is a powerful OpSec strategy.
