LKA Berlin Raids 15 Houses in ‘Child Porn’ Bust
An announcement from Berlin’s Criminal Police Office revealed that more than 80 officers participated in a wide-scale raid in search of several individuals suspected of downloading child abuse content. They also searched the properties for any electronic devices and 150 cellphones, laptops, and other devices. They searched 15 houses.
In addition to the announcement, the Berlin LKA released a somewhat ominous tweet (for those involved in child pornography and related crimes).

Because of the suspicion of possession and the dissemination of child pornography, [the] the State Office of Criminal Investigation […] carried out 15 search warrants in Berlin. The searches were carried out in the districts of:
- Pankow
- Reinickendorf
- Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf
- Mitte
- Tempelhof-Schöneberg
- Treptow-Koepenick
- Marzahn-Hellersdorfand Lichtenberg.
Another search followed in the state of Brandenburg. In an apartment in Lichtenberg, the investigators surprised a 58-year-old, wjo had been watching child pornography during the raid.
Another 58-year-old suspect in Reinickendorf confessed immediately, saying that he had both abused children and filmed the abuse. He was taken to a police station for further action and then released. 80 police officers were involved in the operation [and they seized] 150 cell phones, computers and hard disks and another 900 additional storage devices such as CDs and DVDs. The investigation is ongoing.
