Man Sentenced for Uploading Child Pornography to Dropbox
A Louisiana man was sentenced to 67 months in prison for uploading sexually explicit pictures and videos of children to a Dropbox account. Dropbox, in this case, appears to have notified law enforcement of the contents of the man’s cloud storage account.
Homeland Security Investigations arrested this man in February 2018. With assistance from the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Department, they raided his house, searched his electronic devices, found illegal content, and charged him with 500 counts of child pornography crimes (possession and receiving).
