PA Man Admits Attempting to Buy Meth on the Darkweb

A man from Kane, Pennsylvania, admitted attempting to purchase methamphetamine on the darkweb for the purpose of redistribution.

Michael Carter Anderson, 43, admitted he had attempted to possess with intent to distribute more than 50 grams […] of methamphetamine. Four law enforcement agencies–the United States Postal Inspection Service, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the McKean County Detectives, and the McKean County Drug Taskforce–investigated Anderson.

A picture of There is no evidence the very serious police did NOT raid Anderson in such a way.

There is no evidence the very serious police did NOT raid Anderson in such a way.

The feds indicted Anderson in September 2020. In November 2020, Anderson entered a plea of not guilty. He changed the plea to guilty on June 29, 2021.

For this attempted purchase of more than 50 grams of methamphetamine, Anderson faces up to 50 years in prison. His sentencing hearing is sentenced for November 22, 2021.

Not a single court document available to the public contains useful information about the case or the reason such an insignificant case involved two federal law enforcement agencies.

after a certain amount (quite low amount, 2g+ or something) it is always charged as “with intent to distribute”

Yeah I live in Oregon thank god for the new drug laws here…its like f__k you cop write me a ticket, give me my drugs back, and go f__k yourself….he he he. They will never “WIN” the war on drugs. Hell do you think the US govt even wants to. They make so much money off of both ends sales and busts. Our govt is so corrupt it is sicking if you think about it. I feel for this guy; that is a shit deal. I was unaware CA is now the same as Oregon with the drug laws. We have similar laws to Portugal now. Like the only country to take such a lenient stance on drugs. I just wish the rest of the states would take a stand against the feds and pass similar laws. Its about time don’t you think? I think crime rates have dropped since the new law passed. Much to the chagrin of most of the P.O.S’s that run this country and think that crazed out junkies will be running rampant raping and pillaging.

If he faces up to 50 years he has several priors drug related. Seems like an excessive length of time for - intent to distribute- .

@noseeme- intent to distribute is always an extremely long sentence- it means dealing, and dealing drugs looks a lot worse than personal use. and to the first @anon-Aug 3- sure he can SAY anything, but it’s the weight they go buy as the the 2nd anon pointed out.

Funny how laws are different from state to state. In southern California, they pull you over and find a gram of meth in the car - it’s now an appearance ticket. Same with Oregon. Here we have a guy in PA who just bought 2 ounces and they’re making an example out of him. Sure seems suspicious to waste all those resources and time and money to take a guy off the street who bought two lousy ounces of meth. And it probably was lousy meth as it all is lately. lol
