“Aussiepillimporter” Facing Dozens of New Charges
Authorities alleged darkweb vendors face additional charges after investigators completed a forensic analysis of seized evidence.
Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Cybercrime Squad established Strike Force Glene to investigate darkweb drug dealers in Australia. In 2021, the detectives’ work paid off; police identified and arrested two brothers who allegedly sold $7 million worth of drugs through darkweb markets. According to the police, the duo sold tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) hidden in candies, cocaine, and MDMA under the username “Aussiepillimporter.” The vendors had completed at least 60,000, police announced.
Police arrested brothers Alexander Busse, 39, of Rose Bay, and Ioan Busu, 33, of Chatswood, in May 2022. During the execution of search warrants at the defendants’ houses, police seized:
- almost $60,000 in cash;
- a ring worth $100,000
- about 17 kilograms of tetrahydrocannabinol hidden in lollies;
- cocaine;
- MDMA;
- thousands of tablets (of unknown variety); and
- three kilograms of unidentified powder.
Investigators conducted a forensic analysis of the property seized while executing search warrants. As a result of the deep dive, both suspects are facing at least 20 new charges.
Police charged the older brother with:
- Supply large commercial quantity of prohibited drugs (x11);
- Supply commercial quantity prohibited drug (x3);
- Supply indictable quantity prohibited drug (x11); and
- Supply small quantity prohibited drugs.
They charged the younger brother with:
- Supply large commercial quantity of prohibited drugs (x12);
- Supply commercial quantity prohibited drug (x2)
- Supply indictable quantity prohibited drug (x4); and
- Knowingly deal with proceeds of crime (x3).
Before the extensive analysis, police accused the duo of selling almost $2 million worth of drugs and completing 30,000 transactions. Police will now allege in court that the pair sold more than $7 million in illicit sales since 2017.
Is that an average of 29 orders a day since January 1, 2017?
