UK Man Admits Ordering Drugs on the Darkweb

A man from Swindon pleaded guilty to importing a variety of drugs he had purchased on the darkweb.

Michael Bose, 33, of Carmel Walk, Swindon, pleaded guilty to drug importation and drug possession charges during a plea hearing at the Swindon Magistrates’ Court. During the hearing, the court was told that Bose had ordered a variety of drugs on the darkweb from a vendor who claimed that he shipped from within the United Kingdom.

During the hearing, the defense attorney told the court that the hard times his client faced in early 2020 pushed him to purchase ecstasy pills on an undisclosed darkweb marketplace. On the market, Bose searched for domestic vendors of ecstasy. Bose found a UK-based vendor who offered an assortment of substances. He purchased ecstasy and 3-fluoromethcathinone from the same vendor.

In early February 2020, Border Force officers intercepted a suspicious incoming package addressed to Bose. Officers searched the package and found 29 grams of 3-fluoromethcathinone hidden inside of it.

The Wiltshire Police then executed a search warrant on Bose’s residence later that month. The officers found and seized small quantities of LSD, ketamine, methamphetamine, dimethyltryptamine, MDMA, Etizolam, and 2CB from Bose’s house during the search.

The defense attorney told the court that his client had ordered the drugs for personal use only. He also explained that Bose had, after his arrest, turned to a physician for help dealing with depression and anxiety.

At the end of the hearing, Bose pleaded guilty to importing a Class B drug and possession of Class A, B, and C drugs.

His sentencing hearing is scheduled for May 11, 2021.
