Wallstreet Market Enters Maintenance as Dream Ends Operations

Following the announcement of Dream Market’s closure, Wallstreet Market has entered maintenance mode to prepare for the influx of former Dream Market users.

Hours prior to Wallstreet Market’s unscheduled maintenance, Dream Market announced that they had changed hands, so to speak. Nobody really knows what the announcement from Dream meant.

However, everybody knew that after Dream Market shutdown, all former Dream users would flock to the next largest marketplace. After federal law enforcement in the United States seized Alphabay, users flooded Hansa Market at an unexpected rate. Hansa Market, under control of Dutch law enforcment, had to temporarily stop new registrations in an attempt to manage to increased traffic.

Although the Dream shutdown is similar to the Alphabay seizure, it is currently unclear if Wallstreet Market has also been infiltrated by law enforcement. Assuming Dream was shut down to send users to a market owned by law enforcement, it would make sense for law enforcement to assume users would head to Wallstreet Market.

The “partner company,” launching at an unknown date in the future, could be the trap instead of Wallstreet Market. However, the majority of users would likely distrust the new marketplace, resulting in a waste of law enforcement’s time.

Note that there is no evidence that law enforcement has taken control of Wallstreet Market.
