Bitcoincore.org Launches Tor Mirror

The Bitcoincore.org mirror was announced in a blog post here (.org), here (.onion), and is also available below.

After frequent requests, this site is now reachable as a Tor hidden service through an onion address:

As well as adding another means of censorship resistance, a hidden service gives an alternative trust path that doesn’t rely on certificate authorities nor DNS infrastructure.

Over Tor, the Bitcoin Core site functions the same as its counterpart on the surface web. This includes downloading Bitcoin Core, downloading the source code, reading the available documentation, among other things.

Even though the site attempts to load FitVids.js and several SVGs, it works well with JavaScript disabled and the Security Level set to “Safest.”
