German authorities announced the arrest of an unidentified firearm and ammunition buyer in Fröndenberg

On December 11, officials of the Police Headquarters Dortmund, under the direction of the Central Contact Point Cybercrime (ZAC) North Rhine-Westphalia and the public prosecutor’s office in Cologne, investigated and identified a suspect in an apartment in Fröndenberg an der Ruhr.
The investigation resulted in the suspect’s arrest and the execution of a search warrant at the man’s apartment. The police searched to secure explosives and weapons as well as digital evidence. The proceedings were initiated on the basis of investigations by the Federal Criminal Police Office and are focused on a male suspect aged 43, who attempted to acquire illegal firearms and ammunition using a pseudonym and the use of the TOR network in the so-called Darknet To buy and sell explosives.
In the searched apartment objects could be secured, which probably fall under the explosives law. The investigation continues.
