Reddit Bans DarknetMarketNoobs Subreddit

Reddit, nearly a year after banning the main darkweb market subreddits and the subreddits for various marketplaces, banned /r/DarkNetMarketsNoobs. The Noobs subreddit iinitially avoided the ban by disallowing all talk about sourcing. This was not enough, according to a recent message to subreddit admins.

The Reason

This subreddit has been banned for violations of our Content Policy, specifically facilitating the transaction of illegal goods.

Reddit banned the subreddit for information on how to use darkweb marketplaces the same way they banned /r/DarknetMarkets and dozens of related subreddits.

This ban and the previous ban wave are not unrelated.

The ban followed the ban of other (mostly drug) subreddits that either directly or indirectly permitted users to trade/buy/sell illegal items or material that violated Reddit’s TOS.

Alternatives

Right now, there is no active alternative on the surface web. Now is the best time to become familiar with the darkweb’s version of Reddit: Dread. Users flocked to Dread after the ban of the main darkweb marketplace subreddit. A SubDread for DarknetMarketsNoobs is fairly active.
